Hot, humid conditions on tap for the Triangle after Florence's exit
Raleigh, N.C. — Florence is long gone from North Carolina but hot, humid weather has returned to the Triangle.
Temperatures are expected to climb to the upper 80s on Tuesday and the air will be very moist, said WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner. Temperatures will drop to the upper 60s for the low.
“It will still feel like summer and not fall,” she said. “Although fall officially starts Saturday.”
Many North Carolina residents are struggling to recover from Florence, a historic storm that dumped several feet of rain in parts of the state and is now blamed for the deaths of 31 people across the Carolinas.
Gardner said there is a 30 percent chance of showers on Tuesday but the day will mostly be sunny.
Wednesday will feel similar to Tuesday although chances of rain tomorrow are minimal.
Gardner said the humidity will drop slightly in coming days as drier air makes its way into the region.
